This guest post is by Amanda Steinberg, founder oF www.DailyWorth.com.

I quit my full-time job four years ago to be a full-time entrepreneur. I earn my living running websites like this personal finance website for women called DailyWorth.com. Here are five things I wish someone had told me before I made the financial leap.

1. How much do you need to make, really? REALLY.

These days, the fantasy of building a career on Etsy, an eBay of the do-it-yourself movement, is not just the stuff of dreams.

Holiday Party & Paper Treasure jewelry Trunk Show at my place. My roommate Marci (of Ginger Salon) and I are hosting a little get together complete with yummy holiday beverages, snacks and sweets. We even have a gold bow-topped tree! Come party and check out the newest Paper Treasure collections. Everyone is welcome (and feel free to bring guests). 2257 SE 43rd Ave. One block north of division at the corner of Sherman. From 7-11pm (or later... who knows!)

our family is one of the few in the united states to celebrate the european tradition of st. nicholas eve. every december 5th we put one of our shoes outside the door so that st. nick will fill them up with candy and gifts that night. unless we have been naughty, in which case it is quite possible to be thrown into a sack by krampus and whisked away to the deep dark woods, followed by a beating or perhaps an even worse fate. this i suppose seems like a pretty intense gamble, but who doesn't love free candy?

I'm curious what is inspiring you right now. Show us your inspiration! Lately I can't get enough of Victorian jewelry and 1920's style.
